Hello.
My name is Alison Stephenson. I am a Profoundly
Deaf Musician and proud of it.
This website has only recently been created
and is still in some areas under construction.
Most of the pages are available although
some are not completely finished so please
bear with me.
I want to provide people with an insight
into my life as a Deaf musician. Just because
my ears dont work doesn't mean that I
cant create beautiful music.
This site also has a deaf awareness page
which provides information on deafness and
common questions, myths etc. There is a page
for people learning BSL that has useful tips
and advice which is always being updated.
If there is a question you have that has
not been answered here then please feel free
to contact me my clicking on the contact
bar to the bottom of the page.
I have also provided a page with information
on for people who have a deaf child. I do
a lot of voluntary work with the NDCS (National
Deaf Childrens Society) and often offer advice
to parents. Again if your a parent of a deaf
child, please feel free to contact me with
any questions.
The events page, lists events that are
happening locally in the North east of England
and they are music or deaf related. Have
a look on there for details of an interview
I have recently done for a BBC programme
See Hear.
I have provided a list of useful links aswell
for people to get further information, if
you would like your link or event listed
then please email me.
Hope you enjoy the site and find it helpful
Love
Alison
